From Compassion to Calling: Diana Lynn Gaddey’s Journey to Heal and Restore Lives Through Destiny’s Calling Ministry
In the quiet strength of faith and the warmth of a compassionate heart, Diana Lynn Gaddey has dedicated her life to mending the broken and lifting the weary. As a devoted Christian leader, her path to healing began not in grand gestures, but in the intimate pain of watching family members battle alcohol and drug addiction. In Florida, where they lived for ten years, she was introduced to the redemptive power of a transformative twelve-month recovery program.
This personal trial ignited a fire within her—a deep empathy for those ensnared by suffering. She first poured her love into facilitating women’s retreats, both in Florida and California, offering solace to survivors of physical, emotional, and mental abuse, wrapping them in understanding and hope. But soon, a divine whisper grew into a resolute calling: to establish her own ministry, one that would extend grace to the most vulnerable.
A Divine Nudge: A New Vision in the Carolinas
Diana Lynn Gaddey and her husband Roy, weary of Minnesota’s biting cold, felt God’s gentle nudge toward the warmer embrace of the Carolinas. What began as a vision for an alcohol and drug recovery program evolved as heartbreaking stories of sex trafficking flooded their awareness—tales of young women lured into exploitation through
avenues of vulnerability, insecurity, and substances like alcohol, their innocence stolen in the shadows. With heavy hearts yet unyielding resolve, the Gaddeys recognized an urgent, unmet need for specialized residential care for these survivors.
Planting a Sanctuary of Restoration
Thus, Destiny’s Calling Ministry was planted in the Carolinas, a sanctuary rooted in love, faith, and restoration, designed to cradle those shattered by trafficking and guide them toward wholeness.
The choice of Clover, South Carolina, feels like destiny itself. Hailing from a small town in Michigan, Diana Lynn cherishes the close-knit community and genuine warmth of Clover’s residents. She and Roy are deeply community-minded, committed to weaving their ministry into the fabric of local life, fostering safety, growth, and connection. In this quaint setting, they envision a haven where healing isn’t just possible-it’s promised.
At its core, Destiny’s Calling Ministry offers a lifeline of compassion, supporting sex trafficking survivors through safe housing that shields them from harm, trauma-informed counseling that gently unravels the knots of pain, job training and workforce reintegration to rebuild independence, and long-term mentoring that walks alongside them with unwavering support.

Confronting the Silent Epidemic Next Door
Sex trafficking isn’t a far-off nightmare-it’s a silent epidemic infiltrating our neighborhoods, schools, hotels, and online worlds, shattering lives with unimaginable cruelty. Diana Lynn Gaddey shares stories that pierce the heart, like the mother who entered the resale store,
her voice broken as she recounted her daughter’s descent: coerced by her husband into street work for a mere $100, trafficked into endless exploitation, while he succumbed to overdose. To this day, the daughter vanishes into the unknown, calling sporadically just to whisper she’s alive—a mother’s agony unending.
At a local fair, another woman confided in Gaddey about losing
one daughter to trafficking and a fentanyl overdose, with a second daughter fighting for her life in the hospital after being trafficked and a fentanyl overdose.
These aren’t isolated tragedies; they involve children as young as we can scarcely imagine, reminding us that behind every statistic is a soul crying out for rescue.
The grim reality underscores the urgency: In the United States, the majority of sex trafficking victims are girls and women, with estimates indicating
about 71% are female, encompassing both minors and adults. Minors make up a staggering 50-60% of victims, with around 300,000 children at risk of commercial sexual exploitation each year.
Both North and South Carolina rank as high-risk states, fueled by bustling transportation hubs, tourism, poverty, and population density. South Carolina often lands in the top 10 for reported cases, while North Carolina hovers around 10th to 12th nationally—a sobering call that this horror is closer than we think.
Building a Haven: Join Us in Finishing the Work
On 12.36 acres of purchased land in York County, a vision of renewal is taking shape: three Destiny Girls Homes will house ten young women, each with two house mothers. It will be faith-centered residential spaces for girls aged 13 to 21 navigating the aftermath of sex trafficking. Here, in a secluded environment of peace, they’ll receive life skills training and counseling, emerging with the confidence to step into their God-given destinies.
Victori Village will provide a gentle bridge to independence, with micro-homes allowing graduates to live semi-autonomously on campus for up to three years, supported by accountability and encouragement. And to sustain this vital work, Destiny’s Calling Resale Store stands as a beacon of generosity: fully staffed by volunteers, stocked with donated items, and channeling every penny of proceeds toward building these homes and programs.
Progress is underway, with construction beginning on this haven of hope. Yet, the infrastructure alone demands $1,000,000, leaving a critical $300,000 gap to bridge by the end of May. The next fundraiser, a gathering of hearts and hands, is set for April 23 at New River Church-an opportunity to unite in purpose.
